Aerotek Avionics Technician in Wichita, Kansas
Job Responsibilities:
Functional test, troubleshoot, and/or repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems
Diagnose problems and takes corrective action
Troubleshoots problems on defective units or wiring discrepancies.
Prepare aircraft for flight test and airworthiness certification
Complete logs, discrepancies, and/or modification notices carried forward from previous areas of assembly
Transport aircraft to designated locations
Assist with performing avionics and electrical calibrations and functional tests, for example, communication, navigation, equipment, AC/DC power distribution, secondary flight controls, autopilot system, electrical portions of anti-ice systems, fuel quantity, fuel control system, climate control system, and pressurization system
Perform compass calibration and verification
Install test equipment on the aircraft for ground and/or in-flight troubleshooting
Assist with calibration and/or functional testing fuel quantity, fuel control system, climate control system, and pressurization system
Assist with performing engine calibrations, for example, automatic power reserve, engine sync, engine vibrations, and thrust-reverser functional test
Perform avionics and electrical preflight inspections
Assist with launching and recovering aircraft from flight
Assist with troubleshooting pre/post-flight discrepancies pertaining to avionics and electrical systems
Ensure time compliance equipment, for example, air data computers, communications, standby air speed and altimeters are applicable parts of chapter 14 CFR (FARs)
Remove all temporary and protective equipment from aircraft and install final aircraft product equipment
Remove/reinstall aircraft panels in preparation for airworthiness certification inspection and repair post-inspection avionics and electrical system discrepancies as required
Assist with troubleshooting and repairing avionics and electrical systems prior to and after functional tests, which may include performing repairs at the component-level as required
Qualifications
2 years experience troubleshooting and repairing aircraft electrical and avionics systems, which must include 1 year experience in a flight-line or MRO environment
You have basic knowledge of safety and operating procedures for power-on aircraft
You have basic knowledge of flight-line ground safety procedures
You have basic knowledge of ground support equipment
You have the ability to read and interpret engineering documents
