VMware Cloud Solutions Engineer - Commercial - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Wichita, Kansas

Are you a Cloud Engineer with a passion for learning new technology, who is fiercely independent and yet thrives within of a small team of exceptional professionals? The Emerging Business team in the Cloud Management Business Unit is looking for a technical specialist with a background in infrastructure and cloud automation, to help ensure that security is at the front and center of initiatives to transform the way our customers deliver and manage IT services.

Our team's focus is to help our customers design strategies to solve business problems, using our innovative VMware Cloud solutions to deliver, secure, and manage services across private, hybrid, edge, and public clouds.

The ideal candidate has a passion for solving business problems with technology and consistently demonstrates integrity, with a customer-first approach to solution selling. This is a highly visible role, at the forefront of VMware’s cloud security strategy, working in a collaborative and fast-growing environment.

This role requires exceptional communication skills; the ability to articulate a strategic, thoughtful approach to cloud management with senior level IT customers, and to share deep technical knowledge of our cloud management portfolio with internal and customer resources.

Responsibilities:

Working as part of a dynamic and specialized sales team, you will be responsible for driving technical engagements with a laser-focus on client success. While the opportunities to contribute are constantly evolving, the fundamental responsibilities of your role will include:

  • As a core member of an elite team of technical specialists, you will provide subject matter expertise for VMware’s growing cloud security & management solutions portfolio.

  • As a pre-sales resource you will work with product specialists, core sales teams, and other stakeholders to create the best solution to deliver the customers desired value.

  • As a VMware advocate, you will evangelize our cloud security solutions with executive and technical audiences, both in-person (VMware events, industry conferences, customer workshops) and digitally (blogs, videos, webinars).

  • Up to 50% travel (or as required)

Required:

  • 1 year of engineering supporting cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • 1 year of building infrastructure in the private and public cloud utilizing technologies such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Salt.

  • Experience in Python, Unix shells, or other languages.

Preferred:

  • Public cloud certification - AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent.

  • Security certification - Certified Cloud Security Professional (CSSP) or equivalent.
