The College Access Advisor is responsible for the enrollment of eligible middle and high school students in each region into the Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP program. They establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with all referral agencies and school district staff. The College Access Advisor plans educational, career and life skill activities, completes the College Access Plan (CAP) on each student in the region and sets up meetings with partners to make sure services outlined on the CAP are provided. The College Access Advisor plans and evaluates activities, helps collect in-kind documentation for the region, meets with students daily and fills out a monthly report. When required, work hours may be adjusted to maintain a 40-hour work week.**Environmental Factors**Office environment located in Kansas. This job requires giving presentations to individuals and groups in the region. In state and out of state overnight travel will be required periodically to attend training. Daily driving to schools and group homes is required.**Responsibility / Duty*** Ensure completion of required student applications, supporting documents and surveys. Establish close working relationships with privatized Foster Care agencies, Kansas Department of Children and Families (DCF) and local school districts to aide in enrolling students in foster care into the program. Obtain student school records and college enrollment information for program students.Importance(E) EssentialPercentage15%* Complete the College Access Plan (CAP) on each student in the region. Determine and schedule assessments of student needs. Identify local community referral resources or other partners to make sure services outlined on the CAP are provided. Plan educational, career and life skill activities to meet the needs of students. Report student performance and adjustment needs. r
