Monitors client activities within the program and models prosocial attitudes, beliefs, values and behaviors. Assists in providing supervision and client management with clients under correctional supervision within the Department of Corrections.

  • Client Management - Performs field visits to verify compliance to court-ordered conditions and/or program rules. May transport clients to and from school, court and other activities; engages in liaison and other communication necessary to monitor activities of clients in the community. Assists in the admission and release of clients. Conducts office visits and/or court appearances to fill in for ISOs.\
  • Client Supervision Assists in providing client supervision. Monitors and documents client behaviors, activities, associates, compliance with curfew and/or court conditions, and attendance at required activities. Reviews reports and other communications to maintain awareness of activities of clients. Arranges and assists clients in completing community service work, practicing interviews, completing applications and other planned activities. May initiate consequences when clients violate rules; supervises the application of consequences; investigates incidents; recognizes positive behaviors and acknowledges with incentives. Assists in explaining applicable laws, regulations and standards of behavior to clients to elicit acceptable client behavior. Performs drug screening on clients through urinalysis testing. Checks external information systems for client arrests and/or police contacts; school attendance, behavior and grades; urinalysis results; and, electronic monitoring violations. Enters data into eCorrections and/or Athena. Communicates supervision activities/updates with the assigned ISOs.\
  • Administrative Tasks - Tracks and distributes information regarding the programs services, activities and operations including electronic monitoring and updates route list. Completes vehicle upkeep; monthly car checks and cleaning. Attends meetings and scheduled trainings.\

Minimum Qualifications: Per Community Supervision Standards CSS-02-103 & K.A.R. 28-4-353a, position holder must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. Minimum of three (3) earned college credits in adolescent development, psychology, criminal justice or a related subject. Transcript verifying education credits is required. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid Kansas drivers license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must possess first aid, CPR and physical restraint certification or the ability to acquire within one year of employment. Pass legal background check, Child and Adult Abuse & Neglect Central Registry checks, KCJIS Security Policy (fingerprint) check, and pre-employment screen for alcohol and drugs. Must also meet the required conditions contained in KSA 65-516 and KAR 28-4-356.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate of Arts (AA) degree with related course work in criminal justice, psychology, sociology or related field. Transcript verifying education credits is required. Two years of experience working with youth and families. Professional references are required to verify the related work experience.
