Spirit AeroSystems Defense Composite Mechanic I4 in Wichita, Kansas

Location: Wichita, KS Looking for qualified and entry-level Composite and Repair Mechanics to support Spirits Defense and Strategic programs. Classified and Non-Classified. Must be able to Receive and Maintain a Security Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

Work from approved composites structural repair manuals and documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, drawings and established processes and procedures, to assure the timely delivery of quality products to the customer. Experience in taper sanding composite structures, and the utilization of hot bonder equipment, autoclaves and ovens Proficient in core repair and composite ply layup. the creation of ply maps. and composite construction. Work with vacuum and pressure bags over and inside wrapped parts and tools, and test for leaks. Work from elevated platforms and ladders stairs and steppers, as well as in confined spaces. Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs in any position. to include working overhead. Must have an aptitude for Safety and Quality. Committed to using Personal Potective Euipment (PPE) to include wearing respirators when required. Ability to master and safely use many different hand tools in order to complete tasks.


All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including some weekends.Majority of new hires will be hired on 2nd shift.All Candidates must pass the WorkKeys Assessment (com) or provide verification that they have passed the WorkKeys Assessment. Delay in completing your WorkKeys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.
