Spirit AeroSystems’ Supply Chain Management Organization is responsible for the procurement of all materials and services. The company has contracts and agreements in place with top-tier suppliers across the globe. A Purchasing / Procurement Manager at Spirit is responsible for leading a team of purchasing professionals through the life cycle of purchased components from requirement identification, sourcing, order placement and receipt/ delivery to the assembly line. Our teams ensure we have the right part, at the right place, at the right time

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

• Performs responsibilities requiring the integration of disciplines from more than one supplier management and procurement job family applying independent, specialized technical expertise to support a wide range of business objectives

• Activities include, but are not limited to, the development, integration, implementation, and execution of multidisciplinary business processes

• Works cross-functionally with internal and external customers, suppliers and employee across all levels to carry out responsibilities

• Applies process management and improvement techniques

• Uses problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and expedient solutions to problems

• Facilitates work teams, provides training, and interfaces with internal organizations and external customers with regard to project planning, problem resolution, and process improvement

• The role demands a focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment

• Candidates must also display strong judgment, leadership, and integrity

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and departments in a diverse environment

Qualifications

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in as a Supply Chain Professional and/or Management experience in a production environment

• Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills

• Experience working with multiple cross functional groups

• Strong project management and time management skills

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Experience presenting to and interacting with all levels of the organization

• Ability to effect change

• Knowledge of MRP systems, SAP preferred

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain or other relevant course of study

• MBA or Master’s Degree

• Knowledge/experience with manufacturing and manufacturing processes

• APICS, CPIM, CSCP or other industry certification

• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role

• Experience with Defense aviation programs

• DoD clearance

• Governance and compliance background including experience with AS9100 or other external audits
