Spirit AeroSystems Defense - Senior Manager of Quality in Wichita, Kansas

Location: Wichita, KS

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leads and directs quality organizations or provides cross-functional quality integration leadership

  • Establishes, oversees, and administers processes, policies, and best practices, and determines resource requirements, acquisition, improvement plans and quality measures

  • Interfaces with other organizations, external suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to define, evaluate and communicate accomplishment of project and program priorities through all phases in the product or service lifecycle

  • Provides organizational vision and strategic plan, quality policies, processes, and procedures, as well as process improvements and prevention measures

  • Communicates, educates, trains and coaches’ internal personnel, customers, and suppliers regarding Quality policies, processes, and procedures

  • Provides cross-functional leadership and Quality technical expertise



  • This role requires US Citizenship.

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Preference will be given to those with active clearance .

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a Quality or Leadership role in a manufacturing environment

  • At least 2 years’ customer relationship management experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required in a technical or business discipline

  • Experience with MS Office Suite

  • Experience managing a budget

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using SAP

  • Experience in the Aerospace Industry

  • Experience in Composite Fabrication

  • Experience in a management role

  • Experience establishing Quality Management Systems and/or AS9100 auditing

  • Working familiarity of First Article Inspections (FAI)

  • Six Sigma Green Belt and ASQ Certification

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and team-based environment

  • Ability to prioritize requests from multiple sources and support requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention-to-detail

  • Strong ability to lead and inspire leadership with an ability to influence outside of the organization

  • Self-motivated; ability to take ownership of projects and issues, including the ability to follow-through to closure and resolution
