You will cultivate new and expand existing partnerships that drive net new solutions across sell to, buy from, sell with, sell through and sell against motions with a set of partners. She/He is expected to build executable technical plans with strong governance and measures of success. Cross-group collaboration and the ability to influence without direct control over resources will be required to deliver excellent results.
Those with a validated ability to identify lucrative business opportunities through delivering creative, differentiated solutions that marry up applications and infrastructure will excel in this role.
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
As a Partner Solutions Architect, you will establish preference for VMware technology and Win Next Gen Reference Architectures jointly with Strategic Global partners, and other external partners
Develop and nurture executive relationships with key technical influencers at the partner to influence preference for VMware technologies
Design & architect joint solutions. Convey functionality & capabilities to address design. Identify key initial design win opportunities and co-deliver to ensure their success
Develop & execute tech enablement & training enablement plan. Build Technical Collateral: Technical presentations, Best Practices, Case studies, Ref Architecture Design blueprints, solution guides, demo labs. Deliver technical presentations to customers, partners and the field
Lead on-site proof-of-concepts, on-site workshops and on-the-job training, while leading design of specific use cases
Work multi-functionally between the partner facing, engineering and marketing teams to align and facilitate delivery of solutions targeted to customers, sales engineers and partners. Work with the VMware sales field to support field enablement and executive presales conversations for key accounts that involve joint VMware-Partner solutions.
Drive the creation of content (value propositions, solutions, marketing messages, datasheets, whitepapers etc.) aimed at promoting the joint technical value proposition between VMware and OEM partners to VMware¹s technology partner ecosystem
Actively promote the joint solution through blogging and public speaking at industry events.
Serve as a technical liaison between Alliances, Product Management and Engineering teams in the VMware Business Units in product planning and technical marketing activities
10+ years of experience as a systems engineer, technical product marketing, technical marketing or experience working in a customer environment as an architect or senior practitioner
Experience working with and understanding the needs of enterprise IT executives, CIOs, system administrators and cloud infrastructure providers. Understanding of IaaS, PaaS and cloud technologies
Minimum 5 years of experience in partner relationship management, either in field technical presales, strategic consulting, technical evangelism or technical alliance management
Understanding of technical decision makers and their evaluation process in the cloud and SDDC markets, and what it takes to persuade and drive them toward virtualization and VMware SDDC technologies
Good technical skills and comfortable in front of internal solutions architects, customers and partners
Ability to build detailed, technical collateral from scratch. Track record of developing & delivering formal and informal training material and technical presentations aimed at educating customers, partners or sales teams. Excellent presentation skills
BS in Computer Science or related technical field
MS degree, preferred
Familiarity with Security and Kubernetes based offerings from VMware
Specific experience with IaaS (AWS, GCP) and container frameworks (Kubernetes, Tanzu) would be a plus
