PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Distribution Center Supervisor establishes daily production goals within the distribution center and monitors standards to improve performance. The supervisor will lead and manage, through a staff of coordinators and hourly team members.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Supervision of shipping/ receiving or warehouse personnel to include:Training, Performance Management, Hiring/Firing, Time keeping, scheduling and daily work direction

  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry for transactions

  • Plan and coordinate transfer of materials as need

  • Respond to customer service questions and requests

  • On time delivery of orders to customers

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

  • Support management in staffing and capacity planning

  • Identify departmental productivity improvement opportunities

  • Ensure adherence to delivery standards, efficiencies, and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with other Departments, such as sales, marketing, and customer service, to ensure that the needs of the business and customers are met.

  • Ensure that all workers adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, minimizing the risk of injury or accidents in the workplace

  • Troubleshoots any problems that arise during the distribution process, resolving any issues in a timely and efficient manner

  • Ensure that all workers comply with the company policies and procedures including all Safety rules.

  • Responsible for monitoring inventory levels to ensure that the necessary products and goods are in stock and available for distribution

  • Oversees a team of workers, scheduling and assigning tasks, and monitoring their work to ensure that it is completed correctly and on time

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators to measure departments performance to ensure proper staffing for peak periods.

  • Set priorities of work for distribution team to manage outbound/inbound shipments, quality, and performance of the team while optimizing space utilization.

  • Implementation of continues improvement process in the distribution organization to increase efficiency and reduce the costs.

  • Identify and support different productivity saving projects.

  • Track employee’s performance and promptly address any performance issues that arise

  • Manage transfers to and from a Third-party Logistics warehouse

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent working experience in supply chain/logistics

  • 3-5 Years of distribution supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP/PKMS/Ariba and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products

  • Must have solid working knowledge of shipping/receiving/ warehousing procedures

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to coach and discipline associates

  • Ability to motivate and lead associates

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and handle a dynamic workload

  • Familiarity with DOT/Hazmat regulations

  • Valid driver’s license with driving record within MVR policy guidelines

  • Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Possess a strong sense of urgency regarding assigned duties and have excellent follow up abilities

  • Continuous Improvement project experience is preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must be capable of sitting, standing, and or walking for extended periods of time

  • Required to work in a physical environment that is subject to temperature extremes

  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds
