Position Overview


Responsible for designing avionics, power electronics, and battery systems, using the best available solutions among analog and digital toolsets to create compelling new products. Product areas include cockpit displays and instruments, local and remote sensing, data conversion and storage, lithium battery management, AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion up to 4000W, in-seat power solutions, and various other components needed in aircraft systems.


Primary Responsibilities


+ Design schematics for analog or mixed-signal, or digital circuits while coordinating with dedicated resources for PCB layout


+ Contribute to designing embedded software or programmable hardware as needed to implement requirements


+ Build and troubleshoot hardware, including soldering, operation of test equipment, and daily work in both office and lab environments


+ Prototype and execute test programs to verify compliance with applicable performance, regulatory, and quality requirements


+ Design hardware or software-based tools to support product verification and manufacturing


+ Document designs in required formats, including BOMs, ECOs, and work instructions


Qualifications


+ Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required


+ 5 years’ professional experience designing electronic products; 10 years preferred


+ Experience designing PCBs containing analog and mixed-signal circuits required


+ Experience working with embedded software or programmable hardware required


+ Experience designing to environmental and EMI requirements such as RTCA DO-160 or MIL-STD-810/461 preferred


+ Experience designing power conversion products or battery management systems preferred


+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills


+ Strong attention to detail


+ Organized, focused, and results-oriented


+ Solid problem solving and prioritizing ability


+ Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
