Currently seeking an Electrical Designer / Drafter to join our team. This position is responsible for developing and refining electrical designs, layouts, and drawings for a diverse range of projects. Qualified candidates will create, design, and update detailed electrical drawings. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, project managers, and technicians to ensure designs align with project requirements, industry standards, and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with engineers to interpret design concepts and determine requirements of detailed working drawings
  • Examine electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data, such as configuration of parts, dimensions, or tolerances
  • Confer with the engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems
  • Assemble documentation packages and produce drawings sets to be checked by an engineer
  • Uses computer-assisted design/drafting AutoCAD Electrical equipment and software to develop electrical design and installation drawings
  • Creates and revises drawings control panels, electrical elementaries, interconnects, locations, installation details, cable schedules, conduit and tray layouts, and others as needed
  • Prepares rough layouts of documents as requested by design engineers
  • Assist in the design of electrical circuits for instrumentation, motor control, and other electrical controls
  • Draft detailed multiview drawings of control panels and location drawings

Skills / Qualifications

  • Exhibits dependability, including following instructions, responding to supervisors direction, and taking responsibility for own actions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems including power distribution, controls, and various networks
  • Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers; must be able to accept constructive criticism
  • Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments on time
  • Ability to adapt to changes in project requirements and be open to learning new drafting software and techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft office such as Word and Excel
  • Attention to detail in creating and reviewing electrical designs and drawings, ensuring all specifications are followed and discrepancies are promptly identified and corrected
