This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/11265331 ENGINEERING DESIGN DRAFTERFULL TIMEOffice WeeklyWichita, KS, USRequisition ID: 1029SUMMARYThe Engineering Design Drafter position works in conjunction with members of the design team, including Design Engineers, Lab Technicians and Model Makers, using SolidWorks CAD software to design products, create, modify, and maintain drawings and create bills of material.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIncludes the following:Create supporting drawings and documents for parts, assemblies, and products.Research and create Engineering Change Orders to maintain bills-of-material.Support model shop & test lab with creation of prototypes.Create and maintain reports for safety and regulatory agency listings and work with test lab to provide information to these agencies.Maintain design equipment and software.Create and maintain department specific software to make our job faster/easier and compatible with our hardware.Assist the design team in development of new product.Identify problems and implement solutions for factory support.Create and maintain software to allow factory easy access to design drawings.Create and maintain software for automated product testing equipment.Provide information to customers in the form of product installation and operation, safety and regulatory qualifications, and CAD data to use in their design process.Provide information to tool makers which accurately describe finished parts and parts in process.Actively look for ways to reduce cost while maintaining or improving quality.Create product renderings and provide images for sales literature.Performs other related duties as assigned to support the organization.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Drafting.Four years related experience.Previous HVAC experience preferred.COMPUTER SKILLSProficiency with SolidWorks software is a must.Experience with 3D printing.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific & technical journals/legal documents.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to apply mathematical operations.REASONING ABILITIESStrong mechanical aptitude.Ability to define problems, collect date, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
