Financial Analyst - Plant Accounting

What you will do
As the Financial Analyst - Plant Accounting you will assist the plant controller in month-end closing cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, annual/quarterly budgets, and forecasting.
How you will do it
+ Assist in internal and external audit.
+ GRIR Reconciliation: Analyze and resolve old items on the GRIR reports, perform Vendor Reconciliations
+ Responsible for the calculation and analysis of inventory reserves, e.g., Excess, Obsolete, and Shrink
+ Assist in the coordination of annual physical inventories. Explains book to physical differences and establishes procedures to eliminate inventory variances.
+ Prepare documentation for audit purpose.
+ Analysis standard cost roll results and reporting. Back up for the standard cost roll up process.
+ Assist in the improvement of existing processes and development of new tools regarding inventory accuracy and reconciling standard costs
+ Analyzes reports (e.g. scrap, productivity and spending) for variance problems.
+ Performs reconciliation for fixed assets and capital in progress to General Ledger for their location.
+ Assist in preparation/review of CAR financial justifications for plant capital projects.
+ Track capital project spending, timing and cost impact against project plan, forecasts and budget to understand and report variances.
+ Work with project manager to assure timely capitalization of equipment placed in use. Assist/perform sample CAR post audits to verify savings.
+ Coordinates periodic fixed asset physical inventory per company policies.
+ Assist / support HR / Operations and Supply chain department in ad-hoc projects.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
What we look for
+ Bachelors or higher education in finance or accounting.
+ Intermediate to expert level Excel skills – should be extremely proficient with troubleshooting and creating complex formulas and spreadsheets to meet finance needs.
+ 3-5 years progressive experience in finance, with willingness to work towards a controllership position.
+ Candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize needs.
+ Must have excellent communication skills – may be asked to assist in formal presentation settings.
+ Experience with SAP and Hyperion.
+ SOX and/or Compliance knowledge
