GDIT is seeking a Full Stack AWS Platform Developer to join our Cloud Platform team in support of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Rockville, MD. You will be part of an Agile team to integrate back-end services of a custom platform as a service (PaaS) in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This role requires proficiency with TypeScript and Microservices-based architecture in AWS.
This is a fully remote position!
Responsibilities and Duties:
Expand our front end user interfaces, back end microservices, web services, cloud architectures, as well as databases and other persistent data stores
Design and develop specialized user solutions, as well as applications and databases using an Agile approach within a DevOps environment
Maintain code integrity and organization
Collaborate with the development team to design and launch new features
Work with product owners and other development team members to determine new features and user stories needed in new/revised applications or large/complex development projects
Take tasks from requirements to deployment
Respond to trouble/support issues anywhere in the stack
Create and update documentation
Leverage our DevOps tool stack to build, inspect, deploy, test and promote new or updated features
Participate in all teamplanning, product demonstration and team retrospectives
May serve as task lead
Required Qualifications and Skills:
BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and five years of relevant experience
Must have excellent experience with TypeScript
Good understanding of AWS Infrastructure Services
Good experience utilizing AWS JavaScript SDK, Node.js, JSON, XML
Experience with CI/CD, Git/GitHub, and artifact management.
Working knowledge with datastores – MongoDB, SQL Server, and S3
Good knowledge of Microservices
Experience with Agile development methodology
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Experience with Terraform
Experience building and supporting PaaS systems
Experience with implementing integration solutions with Microservices, RESTful Web Services and Web APIs
Development background and experience with Java, Python, Ruby, or XML
Experience with cloud APIs and usage of push notifications
Expertise in variousdevelopment of database, data integration, and visualization applications
Strong experience with docker
