To be a successfulICPC Case Manager you must become able to do the following always:

  1. Ensure a trauma informed focus on creating a safe and supportive environment for staff and those served through knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and a focus on resilience and recovery.
  2. Coordinate plans to move children as expeditiously as possible if such a move is determined to be in the best interest of the child. Recognize and support the importance of placing children with relatives when reintegration with the parent or caregiver is not viable.
  3. Take steps to place a child/ren with an out of state relative without delay, absent restrictions by the court or other documented reasons.
  4. Complete the home study per relevant law and best practice. If the sending state requires licensure of the proposed placement in Kansas, assist in obtaining the Kansas foster home licensure. Ensure demonstration of ability to meet all licensing requirements such as monthly licensing visit, annual renewal, closures, complaint investigations.
  5. Ensure proper processes be followed to obtain needed approval to transfer the child by both the Sending States ICPC Compact Administrator and the Receiving States ICPC Compact Administrator.
  6. Provide a clear recommendation about the proposed placement with the identified resource.
  7. Work with the EmberHope Kansas legal department on managing ICPC cases under the Indian Child Welfare Act.
  8. Partner with the Community Resource Coordinator to identify resources for the involved child and family.
  9. Follow Company Policy and Procedure and operate according to the Companys Program Practice Guidelines.
