We are seeking someone with a steady baseline of experience & knowledge in the IT security realm but with loads of potential. Work our established procedures but they will only take you so far, you need to be adaptable & analytical to find the best resolution for the situation. Learn from one instance & take to the next to continue to grow & learn in the role. Take the initiative to invest in your own future by seeking out resources & training available to you. As the liaison between the university & its affiliate, youll be involved with shared information & security structures, you will receive direction from the university on the affiliates needs.\ If youre focus is on solving issues & even better at planning to prevent an IT security threat, you are someone we want as part of the team that keeps info safe & secure!
Summary of Responsibilities
Assists with procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.
Essential Functions
- Interfaces with user community to understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate.
- Ensures that user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security.
- Makes recommendations for the accurate level of security required.
- Assists with the preparation of status reports and security metrics.
- Functions as part of the incident response team
- Escalates complex issues to higher level staff.
