The Instructional Designer is a critical member of the Academic team, working with full-time faculty to create online courses and programs. The designer will use a range of technologies and systems to develop dynamic and pedagogically/andragogical sound online courses. The designer will facilitate faculty development in online instruction best practices. The designer will facilitate the process of reviewing and scoring all online courses.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with faculty to design and develop new online courses that align with institutional goals and incorporate pedagogical and androgogical sound practices.
- Assist faculty in the creation and refinement of course syllabus, ensuring alignment with course objectives and best practices for online learning.
- Support faculty in enhancing and updating existing online courses to improve content quality, engagement, and student outcomes, while ensuring course are designed with sound online learning principles.
- Stay up to date with the latest e-learning tools, technologies, and trends to continuously enhance the digital learning environment.
- Provide training and support to faculty and staff on video recording, editing techniques, and the effective use of multimedia, including video editing software, to ensure professional end engaging course content delivery.
- Work with Online Learning team to conduct training, tutorials, or one-on-one sessions using educational technologies to promote best practices in student engagement and interactive content presentation.
- Evaluate and recommend innovative tools and strategies that foster student engagement, enhance learning experiences, and improve course outcomes through gamification, video integration, and other digital resources.
- Assist faculty in developing content and design for In-Person, Hybrid, and Distance Virtual classes.
