Iron Workers Local 24 is accepting applications for the 2024 apprenticeship class. This is a three-year apprenticeship program. Must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job, and have dependable transportation. The ability to travel is required.

Will be required to attend the number of hours of the respective class period, provide own classroom supplies, required tools, and fill out/keep up to date monthly reports.

Iron Workers specialize in the following craft sectors: bridge erection and repair, concrete/reinforcing steel, industrial construction, industrial plant maintenance, ornamental iron/curtain wall, pre-cast concrete construction, pre-engineered metal buildings, post tensioning, rigging/machinery moving, structural steel erection, welding, and wind turbine construction.

Applications may be completed at any of the following Workforce Centers: Wichita, Butler, Cowley, Sumner, Pittsburg, or Independence during normal business hours with required documentation.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to apply for this apprenticeship, you will need to complete and pass the Kansas WorkKeys assessment at your local Workforce Center before your application packet can be completed. Please contact your local workforce center to schedule. Must provide the following documentation to apply:

  • Copy of high school diploma or GED
  • High school transcript
  • Birth certificate
  • DD214 (if applicable)
  • Proof of Kansas WORKReady! testing appointment at time of application or copy of Kansas WORKReady! Certificate
