Job Description Summary:
Bilingual English-Spanish Research Assistant to assist with health research projects engaging the Latino community in the Kansas City Metro Area. This is a full-time, Limited Term position through the University of Kansas Medical Center Department of Population Health JUNTOS Center for Advancing Latino Health in Kansas City. Some travel to other areas in Kansas may be required. Duties will include supporting research and community outreach activities, conducting health education, and performing data analysis. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends with a flexible schedule.
+ Bachelor's degree in public health, health management, health science or related field.
+ Bilingual, requiring demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English.
+ Must be able to work independently.
+ Experience conducting community health education.
+ Working computer knowledge, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, literature searches, and internet literacy.
+ Excellent organization and communication skills.
+ Experience and ability to work with medically underserved Latino communities.
+ Exhibit collegiality and diplomacy within a team environment, have good work ethic, and an understanding of cultural diversity.
+ Master's degree in public health, health management, health science or related field.
+ Work Experience:
+ Prior work experience as a part of research team in the field of population health and community based participatory research projects.
+ Experience with translation of health-related documents.
+ Experience using project-management tools and team platforms.
Job Duties Outlined:
+ Support project day-to-day activities (e.g., recruitment, enrollment, assessment, and follow-up of research participants)
+ Perform literature reviews. Support the development of research protocols and quantitative and qualitative data analyses
+ Conduct community-based educational presentations at multiple community settings
+ Collect and document complete data for study participants per project protocols in the multiple study databases
+ Support administrative and outreach tasks at JUNTOS Center for Advancing Latino Health
+ Organize and maintain regular documentation of project activities, reports, outcomes, and data collection
+ Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and maintain timely communication with team
+ Work with JUNTOS team to translate a variety of study materials and educational content related to the health research
