The Maintenance Manager maintains and oversees the company grounds, buildings, and CNC equipment to ensure that the workspace is safe and functional. The Maintenance Manager will negotiate contracts with service providers and supervises the maintenance, care and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities used by the company.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, or Maintenance Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of knowledge and experience managing a companies facilities and equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of OEM machine controllers (FANUC, Siemens, NIT, Mazak and Haas).

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates facility maintenance on assigned equipment and facilities

  • Motivates, supports, and provides guidance to production staff

  • Maintains inventory, storage, and distribution of equipment

  • Purchases materials, equipment, or other resources

  • Monitors the facility to ensure that is remains safe, secure, and well maintained

  • Collaborates with other management staff to prepare and implement budget

  • Provide training, learning and development where appropriate for all employees

  • Takes part in corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities.

  • Partners with other departments to ensure the adherence to the Quality Management System and Production Goals.

  • Collaborates with operations, leaders, purchasing, customer service and others to efficiently meet customer demand.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact and deal with internal and external customers

  • Regularly monitors and ensure performance goals are met.

  • Provide visibility to management of potential maintenance issues

  • Works with all personnel to perform in process review and assure best practices are followed.

  • Review applicable organizational policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and relevance, communicating policy and procedure updates and changes

  • Performs other related duties, as required

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Hires and trains front-line employees.
    • Oversees the daily workflow, scheduling and assignments of the equipment and the maintenance department
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
    • Works with department leaders to monitor each department and make recommendations to improve performance that impacts the organization

    Tasks

    • Has the capability to troubleshoot complex issues by asking the right questions to get to the root cause of the problem
    • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements.
    • Makes decisions based on company/regulatory requirements
    • Directs facility maintenance or repair activities and sets goals and deadlines for the department
    • Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group environments
    • Confer with organizational team members at all levels to discuss issues, coordinate activities or resolve problems.
    • Implement corrective actions to address departmental and facility issues.
    • Must be an engaged leader with a hands on approach to ensuring that the financial impact of decisions made on a daily basis, including closely monitored non-value added cost in an effort to reduce or eliminate.
    • Work closely with shop floor supervision and employees
    • Develops organizational goals and objectives
    • Analyze facilities and equipment downtime to propose improvement action plans: Define and optimize data gathering and exchange to ensure data integrity in systems.
    • Assess and report project opportunities, risks, and potential solutions.
