This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/11256442 Manage the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department working to repair equipment, operating systems, structure, and grounds of the community in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Executive Director, to assure that our community is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.ESSENTIAL DUTIESAdheres to the policies, operating procedures, the Mission and Core Values of Omega Senior Living.Follows daily work instructions in an efficient manner.Performs various maintenance work and/or repair in an efficient and timely manner.Operates and maintains equipment and tools for work performed; operating in a safe manner and using safety standardsOnly works on equipment and chemicals for which they have been properly trained and are aware of the location of the SDS sheets.Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner; returning tools and unused maintenance supplies to maintenance room at the end of each day.Clears snow and debris from sidewalks as needed; assists with completing lawn care duties such as mowing, planting and shrub trimming.Assist with completing minor and routine painting, plumbing, carpentry and other related maintenance activities using hand tools.Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations and wears proper personal protective equipment.Will keep certification current and participate in continuing education to include staff meetings, in-services and web based trainings.This is an overview of the Job Description and not a comprehensive list of responsibilities. An associate shall perform all duties as assigned.EDUCATIONMust possess, as a minimum a high school education or its equivalent.Vocational/Technical School or other certification preferred. EXPERIENCEPrefer prior experience in AL, IL or SNF. Require one year of prior experience in commercial or institutional housekeeping.SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTSMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures in nursing care facilities.Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Maintenance Department.Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of work areas; must perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for order, safety, and proper performance of equipment.Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
