JOB SUMMARY:
An IT Manager on the SAP team has overall responsibility for technology planning and service delivery in an environment that is large in scale, highly complex, crosses multiple functions, has global impact, and/or higher risk.This person will lead a team of individual contributors to oversee and delegate the development, testing, integration, support and enhancements of our SAP environment and tools.They clearly set individual objectives to match company and departmental objectives and evaluate the team’s performance.This person is an advocate for the members of their team.They will also lead projects to transition legacy ERP and related applications to eliminate technical debt and standardize architecture.
The position requires assessing the business needs and technology (current & future) to develop strategic plans across multiple technology towers.It requires excellent customer service skills to work with business colleagues to understand their goals and measure opportunities.This person will ensure the SAP team is meeting all change management processes and policies, and audit activity.They will also partner with ITRM to ensure a safe security posture and remediate any vulnerabilities.
The IT Manager must utilize broad and deep leadership and technical skills to develop an organization of strong individuals who architect sound technical solutions.They must observe industry standards in order to stay competitive and must implement new technology to meet various regulatory requirements.
This individual must be skilled at planning and executing large technology projects while maintaining a stable environment for existing users.They must ensure we have a streamlined support structure.They are also responsible for the vendor management relationship with contract companies as well as relationships with partners at Textron Information Systems and other Textron Business Units.They will ensure that their team gathers requirements and manages the scope of work for on and offshore contractors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accomplishes team results by developing talent by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of business areas supported and understand information technologies and trends that affect these areas.
Enhances information systems results by identifying information systems technology opportunities and assisting the IT Director in developing application strategies.
Partners and consults with business leaders to identify and priorities opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve goals.
Safeguards assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Accomplishes financial objectives by determining service level required; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Honing the ability to manage individual contributors.
Sets individual objectives to match departmental objectives.
May require a moderate level of day to day direction from upper management.
May require some assistance from upper management to identify needs and deliver difficult feedback.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s Degree a plus
Minimum 7 years IT and/or business experience.
Experience with managing teams; Works under general direction of senior management
IT experience specifically in business process analysis and design.
Knowledge of IT Development Methodology.
Strong executive presence and proven execution of major projects/program management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skilled at planning and executing technology projects.
Skilled at aligning and arranging resources to project needs.
Proven leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead both directly and through the channels of influence.
