SMG Marketing & Booking Manager in Wichita, Kansas

Summary Performs marketing related duties for Century II events, including advertising campaigns, managing all aspects of email marketing, the venue's website and will be the main marketing contact for any tenant clients. This position will also assist the Sales & Booking team with administrative tasks such as providing facility tours, quoting rates, and assisting with any necessary follow-up information. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Carry out specific marketing procedures related to events through advertising, public relations, grassroots and more. * Manage and negotiate media buys and trade promotions on behalf of show promoters. * Manage all Century II e-mail marketing communications, including list management, content management and campaign execution. * Oversee the venue's website, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate. * Execute graphic design and creative projects in Photoshop in an effective and aesthetically pleasing manner for various marketing promotions. * Manage all digital venue advertising by manipulating artwork in Photoshop and ensuring that all assets are up-to-date and accurate. * Generate and execute creative grassroots marketing ideas to increase event promotions in the local area. * Be the main contact with arena tenants to coordinate all venue marketing support. * Manage and coordinate press related duties during events including TV station coverage, photographers and reviewers. * Assists Sales team in accomplishing sales and marketing goals. * Assists with sending client pre-event information and follow-up information that affects booking. * Assists with quoting rates as needed by the Sales team. * Regular attendance is an essential job function. * Other duties as assigned. * Position requires the ability to work at all ASM Global facilities in Wichita. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has limited supervisory responsibilities for employees or interns in the Marketing, Sales, and Booking department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience * College degree required. * Minimum 2 years' experience in marketing/advertising, live entertainment marketing preferred. * Facility/industry experience preferred. Skills and Abilities * Demonstrate knowledge of principles, practices and terminology of marketing, advertising, public relations programs and sales. * Graphic design experience required with working knowledge of Photoshop. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects and details simultaneously, while meeting tight deadlines. * Ability to think "outside the box" and come up with creative ideas to set Century II apart from other venues. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with promoters, media users, employees, and the general public. * Excellent communication skills, both written and orally. * Demonstrate high energy level with a positive attitude, motivation and a strong work ethic. * Operate Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other related office programs. * Ability to work long, irregular hours as dictated by programming including weekends and holidays. * Willingness to respond in a timely fashion during normal business hours, after hours and on weekends. * Must be able to pass a background check. * Some travel as needed.
