This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/11380866 Lakepoint Wichita Nursing - MDS CoordinatorWichita, KS, KS, USA Req #799 Thursday, January 7, 2021 Nursing - MDS Coordinator Department: NursingSupervisor: AdministratorType of Position: Full Time Exempt Nonexempt GENERAL DESCRIPTIONMDS-Care Plan Coordinator is required to perform an assessment of each resident's needs in accordance with company policies and procedures, standard nursing practices and governmental regulations so as to maintain quality care for all residents.ESSENTIAL DUTIESAdheres to the policies, operating procedures, the Mission and Core Values of Omega Senior Living.Conduct and coordinate the development and completion of the resident assessment (MDS) in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the resident assessment, including the implementation of RAPs and Triggers.Conduct initial and periodic comprehensive, accurate and standardized assessment of each resident in the community.Develop and maintain schedule system to ensure all assessments and care plans are conducted in accordance with guidelines set forth by governmental agencies.Complete RAPS and Triggers according to schedule for each resident.Perform assessment review according to MDS regulation and perform revisions as appropriate per each resident condition.Certify resident assessment has been completed.Lead interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive care plan for each resident, which shall include measurable objectives and time-tables to meet resident's medical, nursing, mental and psychological well-being.Review care plans as requested with appropriate parties.Review care plan objectives as necessary to ensure appropriate care and service for each resident.Assures personal and staff compliance with all state and federal regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control and hazardous materials.Assures personal and staff compliance with residents' rights.Required to review and complete all assessments necessary to complete MDS and comply with state and federal regulations.Required to check weights on weekly and monthly schedule.Review associates documentation for accuracy and train associates on updated care plans to ensure all residents care needs are met in accordance with the care plan.May be required to cover the floor as nurse and to participate in on call rotation.Will keep certification current and participate in continuing education to include staff meetings, in-services and web based trainings.This is an overview of the Job Description and not a comprehensive list of responsibilities. An associate shall perform all duties as assigned.EDUCATIONCurrent license as a RN to include annual continuing education requirements.Current CPR and First Aid certification as required by state regulatory agency EXPERIENCE Must be a licensed RN and any necessary examination(s) in accordance with laws of this State. Prefer prior experience in AL or SNU. Prefer prior experience as a RN for at least 1 year. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Nurse in this state.Resident care philosophy with a focus on providing the highest level of quality service and professional interaction.Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and tea m concept.Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
