We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team and lead the design and development of enterprise storage platforms. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient mechanical designs that meet the functional and performance requirements of storage systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, ensure product quality, and contribute to successful delivery of next gen storage platforms. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of mechanical and thermal engineering principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of storage platforms, including concept generation, proof-of-concept activities, detailed design, prototyping, and testing.\ - Collaborate with system architects to define next-generation products.\ - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, including performance, reliability, and manufacturability.\ - Conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analyses to identify the most suitable mechanical solutions for storage platform requirements.\ - Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and prototypes based on project requirements and specifications, schedule, and budget.\ - Conduct analysis and simulations to evaluate the performance and reliability of mechanical and thermal designs.\ - Work closely with our design partners to design and validate product designs, as a NetApp authority to guide, verify, and validate the final design.\ - Collaborate with cross-functional teams , including electrical engineers, EMC, Safety, technical Marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components into the overall product.\ - Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.\ - Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the development and production phases.\ - Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical and thermal engineering technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes and apply them effectively to enhance product design and performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master degree preferred, preferably with 10+ years of experience, product development in data center and enterprise storage .\ - Strong knowledge of mechanical and thermal engineering principles, theories, and practices.\ - Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and modeling mechanical and thermal systems.\ - Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.\ - Familiarity with data center industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and product development is a plus.\ - Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
Compensation\ The base salary range for this position is \$176,700-\$248,500 and will be determined by the candidate\'s location, qualifications, experience, and education. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSUs), with all offer ings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
