As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, leading, and successful completion of new product development projects. Projects encompass involvement and oversight of the entire product development lifecycle including concept, design, test, certification, production implementation, and ongoing support. To be successful in this role, you’ll need expertise in mechanical design and development of electro-mechanical products and the ability to manage multiple people and projects with timely results. Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in multiple, simultaneous product development projects which encompass team dynamics, schedule, product scope, resolution to technical challenges, and resource management, planning, reporting, reviews, and progress tracking.

  • Direct all phases of product development, including verification of compliance with all applicable performance, regulatory, and quality requirements.

  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and develop direct reports.

  • Drive projects to meet company and engineering time, cost, and requirements targets.

  • Contribute to technical problem-solving through oversight, support, and direct product design as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve win-win solutions throughout the product development and production implementation process.

  • Research and evaluate new components, technologies, and methods to incorporate into new designs.

  • Support technical inquiries from internal and external customers for new and legacy products.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in designing mechanical products.

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.

  • Strong program/project management skills.

  • Proficiency in optimizing mechanical design for cost, assembly, and simplicity.

  • Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout software, and simulation tools.

  • Skilled with SolidWorks.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Organized, focused, and results-oriented.

  • Problem-solver with critical thinking and prioritizing skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of environmental requirements such as RTCA DO-160 or similar aerospace, military, or commercial standards.

  • Experience managing the development of electromechanical products.

Work Environment

You will undergo a 2-week structured onboarding process and work closely with the existing manager to get up to speed quickly. The position operates Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, onsite. The work environment involves hands-on tasks and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $180000.00/yr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Wichita,KS.
