What you will do:The OJT Trainer provides hands on technical training to employees of Johnson Controls and onboarding partner’s personnel. They also ensure the documentation of training and maintain the training database. Training courses include, but not limited to: Brazing, Press Safety, Forklift Operation, and other hands-on operations as needed. #best

How you will do it:

  • Evaluate job performance in context of the standard work procedures and quality standards.

  • Provide critical hands-on training to personnel with a focus on working safety and producing quality components.

  • Read, understand, and mentor from Operational Method Sheets (OMS) job instructions, Standard Work Procedures, training curriculum, and instruction manuals.

  • Diagnose workmanship and quality issues and provide just-in-time instruction to correct deficiencies.

  • Record data on irregular conditions such as performance inefficiencies, non-observance to standard procedures, or quality expectations.

  • Participate as a contributing member of a dynamic team, focused on safety, quality, and servant leadership.

  • Exhibit flexibility, adaptability to address both planned and critical response training needs.

  • Successfully complete a Train-the-Trainer course to provide the skills necessary to instruct a diverse workforce.

What we look for:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on experience with Brazing copper and/or Aluminum.

  • Ability to work with individuals and small groups to coach, mentor, and provide instruction to personnel on ways to improve their quality and productivity output.

  • Ability to listen, communicate, provide direction, and coach others to use their job-related skills to produce quality results.

  • Have, or can successfully acquire, first-hand knowledge and skills to successfully perform each of the hands-on positions you are assigned to mentor.

  • Proficiency with MS Office based systems: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Attention to detail and meticulous management of required documentation

  • Experience training and providing instructions to groups of individuals.

  • Hands on experience with Powered Industrial Vehicles and Powered Presses. Understanding of OSHA regulations, and other safety related programs.

  • Experience with safety programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Pedestrian Safety, Electrical Safety.

  • Familiarization of Continuous Improvement concepts/programs: 5s, 6 sigma, lean manufacturing.

  • Bilingual is a plus.
