Monitor the Older Americans Act (OAA) funding process, write and renew contracts, notification of grant awards, provide quality assurance and program oversight, and technical assistance for providers of OAA funded programs including In-Home Services, Community Services, Nutrition, Health Promotion Disease Prevention, and Caregiver programs. Assist with grant writing, special projects, and event planning.

Develop and administer programing contracts, and grants internally and/or externally to providers in alignment with the OAA Area Plan on Aging for services meeting the needs of the community.

  • Develop and administer needs assessment prior to development of a new area plan.
  • Collaborate with team on area plan development and revisions.
  • Manage Request for Proposal process for services covered under OAA
  • Notification of Grant Awards/contracts and revisions.
  • Develop and submit reports to funders.
  • Technical expert on Area plan
  • Present Area plan to Aging Network

Monitor internal and external programs annually through, close communication, technical assistance, on-site assessments along with program and financial oversight.

  • Review monthly provider billing reports (accuracy, expenditures, units provided).
  • Review monthly staff reports (monitor outputs, accomplishments, service provision).
  • Completer annual program assessments for OAA providers, identifying areas of improvement or technical assistance needs.
  • Address issues with vendors, up to and including removal of vendors from the program if needed

Supervise program staff and maintain oversight on the specific program budget, service provided, staff activities, data collection, and adherence to funding requirements.

  • Proficient with department management information system for data collection, ticket assignments, client oversight, staff oversight.
  • Manage and utilize program budget to ensure continuation of future funding.
  • Provide support, technical assistance and coaching to staff.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Gerontology, Counseling, or closely related human service field. One year of experience working with older adults. One year of experience developing and/or monitoring programs. One year of supervisory experience. One year of experience grant oversight, grant monitoring or program management, writing, contract/agreements and budget oversight. Per Sedgwick County Policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US drivers license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Intermediate or advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications: Three years of experience working with older adults. Three years experience developing and/or monitoring programs. Three years experience writing grants, formal contracts, agreements and budget oversight. Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Gerontology, Counseling, or closely related human service field. Licensed Social Worker. AIRS, Information and Referral Certification. Bilingual in English and a language other than English.
