Description

JOB SUMMARY:

To ensure surfaces of aircraft parts and/or assemblies are prepared per specification for primer coatings and finish paint application.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies and sands filler to fiberglass, plastics, and various materials to ensure aircraft parts meet applicable quality standards through the finish process.

  • Operates sanders and various hand tools (orbital sander/sanding block) to aircraft parts.

  • Removing defects/fill pinholes and apply filler for painting application and satisfy customer and quality requirements.

  • Perform masking of aircraft parts per specifications.

  • Roughs and finishes aircraft parts using various types of sandpaper and hand sanding machines to provide surface for paint adhesion and smooth appearance.

  • Perform to specifications and standards; meeting or exceeding the departments quality and productivity goals.

  • Works from oral and written instructions including method sheets, blueprints, and engineering drawings.

  • Responsible for the quality of own work.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Proper use of all safety equipment, such as sanding equipment, cut resistant gloves, proper hearing protection, and all other PPE required for area.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification, and Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

0-6 months of paint prep experience or automotive/aircraft body repair.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids.Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.

This role is eligible for a $4,000 (pre-tax) sign-on bonus. Terms & conditions apply. The Company reserves the right to amend or suspend this program at any time.
