Hiland Dairy Foods Company is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic 3rd shift. Successful candidates should have previous maintenance experience in the food industry or other industrial environments. Strong troubleshooting/repair and preventative maintenance skills, electrical, welding, and ammonia refrigeration experience strongly desired.
Duties:
Good interpersonal skills are a must.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair/owner manuals, engineering specifications, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Maintenance of processing equipment, pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, and carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installation of equipment.
Adjust and repair packaging equipment as needed.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Interface with Operations to minimize downtime and maximize plant reliability.
Work with both Outside Contractors and Plant Operations to ensure all maintenance activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements:
Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to read and speak English for safety purposes.
High School diploma or GED preferred
2+ years of relevant maintenance experience required.
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge a plus.
Experience with PLCs and ammonia refrigeration preferred.
