JOB SUMMARY:

This is an on-site role located inWichita, KS.

When we show up to work at POET Grain, it’s our job to meet the customer's needs as efficiently as possible.

As aPOET Grain Accountant, you will have the chance to work directly with our grain merchandising team members who are located at each of the bioprocessing facilities and are in the field cultivating relationships with our grain customers. Your position will play an integral role in our payments to grain customers. The daily processes you are responsible for will be recorded in the general ledger and supporting systems and will be the foundation of our financial statements and reporting out to stakeholders. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with teams across the POET system to assist in the efficiency of information flow.

  • Process grain settlements, and issue payments to our grain customers.

  • Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts.

  • Maintain and update documentation, always looking for ways to improve the process.

  • Since we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skills may be put to a lot of other uses!

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office including MS Excel and Outlook

  • Experience working with financial statements

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
