LOOKING FOR A PIPE WELDER TO RELOCATE FOR A PER DIEM CONTRACT THROUGH END OF THE YEAR!!!

Job Description

Perform specialized weld functions required in the production of heat and transfer equipment. The welding will primarily be Flux Core and TIG. Perform proficiently in an out of position manner with a minimum of twelve (12) procedures. This shall include FCAW, GMAW & GTAW processes as a minimum including two (2) specialty procedures (small diameter pipe, tube to tubesheet, subarc, overlay, stress) with good weld quality and production time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Qualified to read and interpret shop blueprints as related to weld joints, symbols and general layout, fit-up or assembly operations.

  • Capable of operating overhead cranes and forklifts related to welding part set-ups, removals, etc.

  • Capable of setting up and operating arc-air equipment.

  • Thorough knowledge and performance of weld rod control as pertains to AS 5.2.

  • Performs in-process inspection and NDE (i.e., MT and PT)

  • Knowledgeable of interpass/temp/heat input and its effect related to distortion during and after welding with steels and alloys.

  • Performs minor maintenance related to wire feed machines and related welding equipment.

  • Performs layouts and basic fit-up and assembly operations.

  • Meets basic tool requirements for the classification.

Job Type

This is a contract position that should roll into spring of next year.

Work Environment

Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm Mon-Fri (8 hour shifts) OR 3:00pm - 1:30am Monday - Thursday (10 hour shifts). Voluntary depending on the workload of the week.
