Job Summary:
The Project Engineer is the primary technical interface for Key Account and Target customers. Liaison between plant engineering teams in US and India. In this role, you will directly support sales Key Account Managers as the technical expert on products to secure design and manage the technical support of the customer. Must be able to identify and provide reliable, cost effective solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Responsible for conceptual design sketches via AutoCad/Inventor 3-D and coordinating the sampling of products to customers. This is a customer-focused position. Our products serve a wide group of customers who are manufacturers of lawn and garden, agricultural, construction, marine, automotive, recreational vehicle and PowerSports equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Works as a team with Key Account Managers, Sales Coordinators and Development Engineers supporting an assigned group of customers in the successful implementation of product requirements.
- Point of contact for customer technical inquires.
- Creates initial conceptual designs to meet our customers needs of existing standard product after successful collaboration with our customers engineering group.
- Coordinates with Development Engineers at US and India plants for any new product designs needed for initial conceptual sketches and tooling quotes.
- Works in conjunction with Key Account Managers and Sales Coordinators to quote and sample controls for approval by the customer.
- Will travel to customer locations working with their engineering group to develop cost effective creative solutions for their application requirements.
- Works in conjunction with various internal and external departments to design, prototype, test and sample new products for approval by the customer.
- Works closely with Global Design team in India for application development as needed.
