Job Title: Project Manager (CM)
Job Summary:
Central Mechanical Construction. is looking for a highly motivated Project Manager with strong leadership skills to join our Project Management team in Manhattan, KS. Central Mechanical is a specialty subcontractor providing HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services. This individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, communicate well, influence effectively, and be comfortable in a highly fluid/ambiguous environment striving for excellence with high integrity. This role is responsible for contract administration and project performance, as well as project leadership and coordination efforts with trade partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
Coordinates with estimating on project turnover process and conducts pre-construction reviews including design, estimate review and contract documents.
Verifies pricing and scope, identifies successful bidders, provides gap analysis against initial scope, and manages issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders.
Manages the submittal schedule setup. Coordinates priorities with the team; reviews and approves all shop drawings and samples prior to submittal to architects or engineers.
Ensures approved submittals are returned to subcontractors and available to project team per the project schedule and the contract.
Identifies potential schedule impacts including scope, weather, manpower and changes, and facilitates mitigation plans for these impacts.
Coordinates and communicates with owners, vendors, crews, subcontractors, architects, and suppliers to facilitate timely project completion.
Has accountability for all project management documentation that may include schedules, material purchases, cost management, progress charts, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, jobsite controls, tracking reports, etc.
Manages and directs subcontractor activities alongside Superintendent to ensure expectations of contract documents are met.
Completes monthly pay application process.
Performs detailed financial review and analysis of project budgets and prepares monthly projections as a part of project review and business planning processes.
Visits project sites to monitor progress and verifies quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Maintains client relationships and assists in the development of new business.
Represent company in a professional manner.
Maintain positive attitude and help maintain an excellent work environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction science and/or related field with minimum 5 years of industry experience is preferred.
Prior experience in role assisting with project management or field leadership preferred.
Estimating experience is valuable.
Ability to multi-task is required.
Valid driver's license
Ability to lead and function well within a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents.
Knowledge of general construction practices and principles.
Able to Influence others: decision-making, negotiation, persuasion, problem-solving, and trust/credibility building.
Thorough knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy.
Knowledge of accounting principles as it relates to construction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency in project management and scheduling software.
Ability to travel to various jobsites to meet project demands.

Compensation Range: $85,000 - $110,000
