Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
The QA Metrology Specialist/Faro Arm Operator will aid in the plant’s focus on Quality Assurance by operating Faro Arms to inspect assemblies and ensure conformance to specification. The Specialist also utilizes advanced mathematical concepts to interpret and review complex print documents.
Responsibilities
Operate, program, and calibrate Faro arms, including performing daily SPC layouts. Measure any detail part that may be brought to QA Metrology for inspection.
Utilize GD&T print knowledge to accurately interpret complex prints and create measurement processes that exactly reflect print requirements. Proofread complex prints and request corrections or callout specification changes.
Setup, operate, and program the DEA CMM that uses PCDMIS software.
Use a wide range of manual precision tools including calipers, micrometers, protractors, optical comparators, etc. to complete measurements and analysis.
Participate in World Class Manufacturing programs and projects.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma or GED
Experience working within Quality Assurance capacity for a manufacturing or industrial environment
Ability to read, write, and comprehend blueprints, including GD&T, instructions, and short correspondence memos
Proficiency in using precision measurement and inspection tools and gauges
Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and statistically based software packages or databases
Strong mathematics skills in Geometry and Trigonometry
Physical ability to stand, lift, push, pull, climb, squat, sit, lean, twist, extend, reach, bend, and grasp for accurate measurements
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong blueprint reading skills
Process-oriented with the ability to address issues logically and systematically
Ability to manage change, handle diverse and difficult situations, and manage multiple activities simultaneously
Effective prioritization of work tasks and requirements
Strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats to various parties including Operations, Engineering, Suppliers, and Management personnel
Professional demeanor and integrity, using a data-based approach to issue investigation and treating colleagues with respect

Work Environment
Manufacturing environment focused on producing skid steers. The role involves physical activities such as standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, squatting, sitting, leaning, twisting, extending, reaching, bending, and grasping to measure fixtures, components, and assemblies accurately.

This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
