Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) and using Inspection Expert Software. You must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints for small to mid-sized parts in a machine shop environment. This role primarily involves desk work, where you will complete all reporting. The goal is to complete 2-3 FAIs daily.

Responsibilities

  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) on small to mid-sized parts.

  • Use Inspection Expert Software for reporting and documentation.

  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

  • Conduct quality inspections using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.

  • Ensure quality assurance standards are met.

  • Complete 2-3 FAIs daily as a target.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of quality inspection experience in the aviation industry.

  • At least 2-3 years of FAI reporting experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of bench level inspections, preferably in a machine shop environment.

  • Proficiency with Inspection Expert Software.

  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.

  • Experience with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a machine shop environment is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Work Environment

You will work in a machine shop with about 50 employees, specifically in the small quality department. The dress code is casual with jeans and t-shirts. The position follows a first shift schedule from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime may be required, usually limited to a few hours on a Saturday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
