POET Rail Freight Coordinator in Wichita, Kansas

JOB SUMMARY

TheRail Freight Coordinatorwill be the expert on all freight billing received from railroads. This will include researching, understanding, and documenting changes to railroad freight and exception charges.

This is an on-site role located inWichita, KSand is not open to remote locations.

DURING A TYPICAL DAY

  • Develop & maintain relationships with POET AP and Railroad AR team members.

  • Research and document tariff rate changes in POET systems including: rail freight, switching charges, carbon surcharges, fuel surcharges, etc.

  • Maintaining accurate data and information within systems as well as working with the AP group to resolve issues for contract, tariff and accessorial rates and billing from railroads or other rail service providers.

  • Actively dispute railroad billing errors in railroad systems

  • Manage rate, rebate and other rail related document filing and organization

  • Timely resolution of railroad freight discrepancies

  • Maintain goal of “Zero” past due for all rail related AP accounts

    REQUIREMENTS: WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

  • 2+ years’ experience in an accounting or related field OR bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Outlook
