As a Recreation Aide 1 - Cashier for the City of Wichita, youll be the first friendly face that pool guests see when they arrive. This seasonal role is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience handling transactions, assisting patrons, and being part of a team that keeps our neighborhood pools running smoothly.
In this position, you\'ll greet and check in guests, process payments for pool passes, and answer questions to ensure every visitor has a positive experience. You\'ll also assist with maintaining pool areas, participate in safety training, and support your team in keeping the facility clean and welcoming. If you enjoy working with people, have a knack for handling money accurately, and want to contribute to a fun and safe summer atmosphere, this role is perfect for you!

Examples of Work Performed
- Assist guests with checking in and purchasing daily pool passes.
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies
- Enforce all City of Wichita Parks pools policies and procedures
- Participate in regular in-service training
- Assist in cleaning the facility and related areas and maintenance and operation of pool equipment
- These examples are not intended to be all-inclusive. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed.
- At no time should any other job duties interfere with the primary responsibilities of a lifeguard: The safety of the patrons
Requirements of Work
- Ability to listen to, read, interpret, and apply instructions received
- Ability to climb steps or ladders
- Ability to move about quickly and stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop or squat, as needed to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to work outdoors in unpleasant weather conditions
- Ability to tolerate airborne nuisances associated with open grounds and windy conditions
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the public
