JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Research and Development Innovation Manager is responsible for leading the day-today activities of the Cargill Protein Foodservice Research and Development Innovation team and will be a member of the Protein Research and Development leadership team and the Protein Foodservice leadership team. In this role, you will ensure that projects are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets are managed by translating customer and market needs and manufacturing process improvement opportunities into innovative products and process solutions.
Build a high performing, highly engaged Research andDevelopment Innovation team focused on product and process developmentteam to create vision, strategic workforce planning, talent development,succession planning, organizational development, engagement,communication.
Provide leadership and advisory on how to execute ourinnovation portfolio and product line architecture.
Responsible for the successful completion of selectedprojects within Cargill Protein Research and Development Innovationportfolio according to agreed business objectives, time frames andbudgets.
Initiate and monitor the execution of customer andmarket led innovation projects for Cargill Protein Foodservice.
Participate in technology scouting and providingtechnology leadership and advice to internal and external customers.
You will develop plans and deliver results in afast-changing business and/or regulatory environment while leading anddeveloping a team of experienced professionals and supervisors exhibitingauthority for talent management decisions related to hiring, performanceand disciplinary actions. You will also coordinate subordinate managersand supervisors in selecting staff to align with current and future needsof the organization.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of six years of related work experience
Demonstrated effective portfolio and project management skills
Three years of supervisory experience
Expertise in animal protein and/or food industry
Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and trust through technical knowledge and expertise
Experience leading a technical team with staff from multiple locations and disciplines
Ten or more years in research and development, meat science, food technical services, applications or a similar discipline
Advanced degree (Masters or higher)
Food and/or meat scientist experience in new product development
Commercialization of new products, and/or research
Previous new product innovation strategy development
