VMware Revenue Manager - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Wichita, Kansas

This is an opportunity to lead! The manager will be part of the Revenue Team comprising of 100+ people reporting to the Senior Revenue Manager, focusing on revenue accounting operations. You will enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, learning about revenue accounting positions, managing reviews and investigating system entries, reporting, and revenue accruals. You will also get to lead system testing and provide guidance to the team for automation and process enhancements and experiencing these projects going live!

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Complete onboarding trainings to familiarize yourself with the business and operations of our team

  • Assume ownership of the reviews related to revenue system’s daily activities and period close activities

  • Support various projects by reviewing user stories, testing and implementing processes and reviews

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • Manage period end close activities, including system close, journal entries, reconciliations, BS and PL flux analyses, and presentations to management

  • Perform system data reviews for various revenue processes including investigating anomalies and actioning conclusions in RevStream 5x (i.e. relative allocations carveouts for multiple element arrangements, revenue manager queries, system close queries etc.)

  • Review various reports, workpapers, and disclosure requirements for 10Q and 10K filings (e.g. unbilled revenue and corresponding accruals and RPO)

  • Lead RevStream 5x system design and review related testing associated with projects, change requests, enhancements, and M&A activities

  • Work closely with IT and BTA team to resolve system related matters

  • Field questions from wider Revenue Team related to system & manual entries

  • Subject Matter Expert for revenue reporting tool (SAP BI) used by global revenue team to assist with reporting needs

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technical accounting and product management team to assess new offerings and M&A activities impacting revenue accounting automation

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You will have exposure to leadership within revenue team and ongoing interactions with the Sr Manager and Director as well as cross functional leaders within and outside of revenue team.

The leadership gives you an opportunity to independently lead various tasks and initiatives while providing guidance and support as needed and having regular 1x1s, semi-annual goals, and providing the opportunity to rotate tasks to continue to grow in your role.

The Revenue Manager position reports to the Senior Revenue Manager, located in California and works closely with the Director, located in Colorado, as well as other cross functional leaders, located globally. The candidate will have the opportunity to virtually work with our Revenue Team members in other locations, including Costa Rica, Ireland, and India.
