What you'll do here:

The Sales Compensation Analyst, Revenue Operations will lead the creation and ongoing maintenance of analyses, dashboards, and processes required to support efficient tracking and execution of Sales Incentive plans in the US Higher Ed Go-to-Market organization. This includes, but is not limited to, using standard systems and tools to run sales territory definitions, processing financial reporting to allocate sales to appropriate sales territories, creating workflows and dashboards to accurately measure sales rep performance to goal and expected bonus payout, and triaging and solving data issues resulting in incorrect sales territory crediting.

Working at the direction of the Insights Manager, Revenue Operations , this person will be accountable to turning business requirements from operations leaders in Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing into quantitative, accurate analyses and dashboards using consistent data sources and definitions. This role will also partner closely with partners in finance to ensure all incentive achievement data can be efficiently ingested into payroll systems and processes to enable timely and accurate payment of bonuses.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building, maintaining, and continuously improving dashboards and analyses to enable measurement of incentive plan measures and efficient execution of incentive plans

  • Partnering closely with Finance on completing calculation and payment of incentives accurately

  • Interacting directly and regularly with sales representatives and managers to inform and educate them about all relevant sales incentive programs and processes

  • Using tools to create and maintain systematic processes to gather and solution for inquiries and requests from sales representative and managers related to territory management, sales incentive calculation, and data accuracy

  • Driving and auditing processes within Cengage systems and tools to define sales territories and accurately allocate all relevant data to appropriate sales territories

  • Preparing, auditing, and sanitizing financial data from partner-reported sales in order to efficiently and accurately ingest it into Cengage systems and accurately allocate it to appropriate sales territories

  • Investigating and solving issues discovered in data, through both contacting stakeholders as well as through desk research

  • Partner with IT team to evolve current toolsets used in sales incentive plan calculation, serving as the US Higher Ed and Canada subject matter expert in Sales Incentive plan execution

  • Supports the yearly target setting process and ensures that targets are relevant throughout the year and manages adjustments where needed to maintain consistency and fairness

  • Creates and maintains processes to track manual adjustments for sales calculation and modeling process

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of work experience in Sales Operations, Finance, or Business operations in a SaaS, EdTech, Information Services organization

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in analytics, finance, or a related major

  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and maintain large amounts of data from various sources across the organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain sophisticated financial and operational models using spreadsheets and database software.

  • Detail oriented and experience being accountable to a high level of precision and accuracy. Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in analytics tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, or similar toolsets

  • Proficient in basic SQL coding and database management

Recommended but not required:

  • Prior experience in driving Sales Incentive plans

  • Experience working in Salesforce CRM and SAP

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$58,300.00 - $93,200.00 USD
