Responsibilities
Location: Wichita, KS (Onsite)
Summary:
Reporting to the Director of U.S. Defense & Space Contracts for Spirit AeroSystems, this role is responsible for the management and execution of a team of contract administration professionals proposing, negotiating, and administering a broad range of customer sales contracts primarily with Prime contractors under Department of Defense contracts. This Senior Manager position will manage direct reports and partner internally and externally with stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
Contract managers provide leadership and make contributions in preparation and review of contracts, proposals, agreements, related negotiations, pricing review and approval, contracts administration, export and import compliance and customer contact/interface
Develops, reviews, and updates policies, procedures and task instructions
Candidate will maintain various reports, conduct research and fact-finding to provide current contract status as needed
Candidate will also provide management information reports and perform studies for Senior Leaders
Helps build strategy and executes around business objectives
Candidate is able to work in a team environment and provide contractual support and guidance to other assigned program personnel
Develops and maintains good working relationships and is adept at building positive relationships with employees, customers, program team members, industry peers and Senior Leaders
Candidate displays excellent strategic thinking, problem solving, creativity in finding better ways to achieve goals, and a desire to assist in growing the business and gaining efficiencies to help improve revenue, earnings and cash
Interacts and partners with Spirit’s Executive Leadership Team regularly
Performs other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of related finance experience
Must be a strong people leader and have management experience
Experience in all aspects of the contract life cycle including proposals, administration, and close-out
Strong presentation and negotiation skills; including development of aligned negotiation strategies and plans
Experience working in a complex matrixed environment
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities between multiple business units in a fast-paced culture
Demonstrated business savvy to effectively communicate and work with other executives and leaders in support of achieving business goals
Demonstrated ability to lead from the front as well as present at the senior executive level on a regular basis
Ability to travel, as required (projected to be less than 5%)
Ability to coach and lead others
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance
This role requires US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) and/or aerospace experience preferred
Current US Secret Clearance
3+ years of people leadership experience
Broad contracts experience related to administration, execution, negotiations, strategic and operational elements
