Job Purpose / Duties & Responsibilities
The Software Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the infrastructure and operational processes for applications deployed on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires a deep understanding of cloud services, cloud architecture, and software deployment strategies. The manager will build and lead a team of cloud professionals, working closely with the software development team to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of applications.\ \ Duties & Responsibilities\ *\ Leads by example to achieve BGs Mission/Vision and Core Values.\ Adheres to company polices and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times.\ Cloud Management:\ Oversee the deployment, scaling, and management of applications on AWS/GCP.\ Ensure optimal use of cloud services to meet organizational goals.\ Implement and manage continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.\ Monitor cloud resource usage and cost optimization strategies.\ Team Leadership:\ Lead and mentor a team of cloud and software engineers.\ Coordinate with software development teams to align operational requirements with development.\ Facilitate continuous learning and adoption of best practices in AWS and GCP cloud operations.\ Operational Excellence:\ Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of applications.\ Develop and maintain operational procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving.\ Implement security best practices and compliance policies according to industry standards.\ Manage and resolve incidents and outages, ensuring minimal downtime.\ Strategic Planning:\ Collaborate with IT leadership to forecast future needs and plan resource allocation.\ Evaluate new technologies and cloud services to enhance operational efficiencies.\ Contribute to the strategic planning of software architecture and infrastructure.\ Stakeholder Engagement:\ Communicate effectively with other managers, technical teams, and external stakeholders.\ Prepare and present reports on infrastructure health, performance metrics, and operational challenges.\ Work closely with software support teams to understand and address customer issues and feedback.\ Other duties, projects and initiatives as assigned.\ *This position will work on-site in the Wichita, Kansas area. Hybrid work is available for local candidates.
