Job Summary and Qualifications
Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs
Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed Assesses patients throughout procedures and responds to patient needs as appropriate
Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed, including all computer and PACS functions
Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff
Demonstrates knowledge of universal protocols, and uses professional judgment and critical thinking skills when assisting with procedures
Assists Medical Sonographer with performing sonograms including Ob/Gyn, abdominal, cerebral, vascular, pediatrics, small part scans, and other necessary studies
Participates in the improvement of operational functions of the department
Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care and practices identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration
Performs other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR
Required Education or Experience: High School Diploma or GED & Must be enrolled in and in the final semester of an accredited school of ultrasound or completed approved school of ultrasound (pending hire as a Sonographer)
