Insight Global Sr Data Engineer in Wichita, Kansas
Job Description
A global client of Insight Global is looking to bring on a senior data engineer to join their growing organization. This candidate will be responsible for taking a problem or task, creating a solution, and then seeing the solution through to design, implementation, etc. This candidate will be assisting various projects including but not limited to, supporting enterprise search using ElasticSearch, managing the enterprise MDM environment, creating data stores and using Kafka or other tool to build data capture applications, etc. The ideal candidate will be "T-Shaped" in that they have a wide breadth of knowledge but can go deep in certain areas like ETL, cloud, data warehousing, etc. This role will require the candidate to work independently and be able to create solutions that are out of the box for complex data issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong development background in Python or Java as most of the client's programs are written in these. This role also will require a candidate to learn new programs or applications in the role and the candidate must have a go-getter mentality to comfortably pick these up. This client is looking for a senior data engineer not based on years of experience but based on depth of knowledge and ability to learn on the job. You will be working on cutting edge technologies and projects and have an opportunity to gain tremendous experience in all things data.

Skills and Requirements
* BA/BS or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science or Data Science/Statistics
* 6+ years of data engineering, business intelligence, data modeling, building ETL pipelines and multi-dimensional data warehouse (manager is not concerned with years of experience if they are a senior)
* Strong experience creating unique solutions for complex data problems
* Strong coding experience in developing enterprise applications using Java/Python
* Knowledge or preferably hands on experience with containerization including Docker or Kubernetes
* Experience building, scaling, and maintaining high volume systems
* Experience analyzing large complex data sets to resolve data quality and performance issues * Experience with Cloud system architecture and design preferably in AWS
* Experience building and consuming APIs including RESTful and others null
