Actalent Staff/Project Engineer in Wichita, Kansas

Actalent Services is seeking a Staff/Project Engineer to support team in Wichita, KS. This position involves a mix of fieldwork and office tasks. Below are key responsibilities and qualifications for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Surveys: Perform topographic, boundary, and construction surveys using advanced surveying equipment. Ensure accurate data collection for project planning and execution.

  • Gather Data: Collect environmental, geological, and structural data from various sites. Use this data to inform project designs and reports.

  • Ensure Construction Quality: Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards. Address any deviations or issues promptly.

  • Perform Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, safety, and quality. Document findings and recommend corrective actions as needed.

  • Various Terrains and Weather Conditions: Work in diverse environments, from urban settings to remote areas, and adapt to changing weather conditions to complete tasks effectively.

  • CAD Drafting: Create detailed technical drawings and plans using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Ensure precision and adherence to project requirements.

  • Mathematical Calculations: Perform complex calculations related to structural integrity, load-bearing capacities, and material specifications. Use these calculations to support design decisions.

  • Write Reports: Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing project findings, progress, and recommendations. Ensure clarity and accuracy for stakeholders.

  • Create Site Plans and Facility Diagrams: Develop detailed site plans and diagrams that illustrate project layouts, utilities, and infrastructure. Ensure these documents are clear and informative.

  • Prepare and Review Engineering Calculations: Develop and verify calculations for structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.

  • Drawings and Reports: Produce and review technical drawings and reports that detail project specifications, methodologies, and outcomes. Ensure these documents meet regulatory and client requirements.

  • Oversee Projects and Personnel: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources. Coordinate with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

  • Plan and Coordinate Work: Develop detailed work plans and schedules. Coordinate activities among team members to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Day Trips within Wichita Area: Travel to various project sites within the Wichita area for inspections, data collection, and meetings. Ensure efficient use of time and resources.

  • Check Technical Accuracy of Work: Review and verify the accuracy of technical work, including calculations, drawings, and reports. Ensure all work meets high standards of quality and precision.

  • Complex Engineering Site Civil Plans: Develop and manage detailed site civil plans for complex engineering projects. Ensure plans are comprehensive and meet all regulatory and client requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering.

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Professional Engineering license or progress toward it (E.I.T certification preferred).

  • Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.

This is an onsite role. Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to Wichita Metro Area
