Aerotek Structures Mechanic in Wichita, Kansas

Hiring Sheet Metal and Composite mechanics with military / defense backgrounds and an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE for a defense program locally to Wichita.

Shift :

  • Most Contractors will work 2 nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM), Monday through Friday

  • Some Contractors will work 1 st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), Monday through Friday

  • They normally begin on 1 st Shift for training

  • CONTRACTORS MUST BE OPEN TO BOTH SHIFTS

Overtime:

  • Overtime will vary based on need. They won’t work much OT while training and waiting for their Program Clearance (explained below, in “What Contractors Need to Know”).

Description:

  • Seeking Assembly Mechanics that will be working in a role that requires an Active Secret Clearance.

  • Perform fabrication, change incorporation, assembly, and rework of sheet metal and/or composite components.

  • Work with blueprints, changes, specifications, and work orders to assemble and install structural components.

  • Setup and perform all manual and automated assembly operations required to accomplish assignments.

  • Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, etc.

  • Use precision measuring instruments required to accomplish assignments.

  • Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching, and assisting employees of all experience and classification levels.

  • Document any discrepancies according to specification, process, and procedure.

Work

Environment:

  • Assembly Mechanics will be working in an aviation manufacturing environment that will be considered top secret and only accessible to those with the proper credentials.

  • All tools are provided.

Desirable

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Sealing – seal parts and assemblies, fillet and fay seal, apply leveling compound or scotch cast, etc.

  • Precision Bench Assembly – Assemble precision aircraft parts and assemblies such as landing gear

  • Sub-Assembly – Assemble parts to make sub-assemblies using templates, jigs, and fixtures

  • Assembly / Installation Structures – Assemble structural parts, assemblies, and skins to make larger assemblies

  • Assembly / Installation Doors – Assemble, trim, fit, rig, seal, align, and adjust aircraft door systems

Pay Breakdown:

ST -

$45.00 per hour (all taxed)

OT -

  • $67.50 per hour (all taxed)
