Job Purpose / Duties & Responsibilities

The position of Blending Department Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all facets of the blending and fluid transfers are performed correctly with strict adherence to BG Products quality and safety mandates. Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned hourly workforce and be responsible for the daily operation of the Manufacturing (Blending) for the Wichita or El Dorado Locations.\ \ Duties & Responsibilities\ \ Leads by example to achieve BGs Mission/Vision and Core Values.\ Adheres to company policies and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times.\ Understands the blending systems and trains employees on the operations.\ Supervise the direct processing of materials and the associated hourly workforce to ensure attainment of key business results in areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Inventory Accuracy to our Internal and External Customers.\ Effectively collaborate with and manage a work team with specific responsibility for motivating others, ensuring performance, schedule execution, task coordination, equipment and area preparation and effective administration of personnel policies and procedures.\ Manage conflict and effect resolution to technical and personnel challenges is key along with openness to change and the ability to effect positive change.\ Collaborate with team members in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and action plans.\ Support activities in the areas of cost containment, efficiency, productivity, energy conservation, waste minimization, operational excellence and lean practices. Will manage scrap reduction efforts and manage the scrap fluid process.\ Demonstrate integrity, credibility and flexibility in their daily performance so as to motivate others to do the same.\ Perform batching / batch scheduling as well as meeting the needs of support departments as their activities pertain to the Blend Center.\ Assist with coordination of incoming tanker truck/raw materials schedule with Purchasing; awareness of inventory levels of raw materials compared to capacity constraints.\ Manage re-blend fluid so as to minimize the inventory and ensure allocation where possible into the finished product stream.\ Assist with development of projects to provide data in order to resolve issues regarding problematic blends/ fluid transfers/corrections.\ Assist with outside contractors as well as internal support to resolve process issues\ Ensure departmental processes are working within ISO and EHS policies; participate in and resolve audit findings as needed.\ Ensure all procedures and work instructions are current and updated.\ Perform all pigging and transfer of finished product/raw materials (via Winblend at the EMF) and assist with troubleshooting when necessary.\ Train all new employees and support department personnel on applicable processes within the Blend Center at both facilities.\ Be knowledgeable of the storm water drainage systems as well as oil/water retention systems in both facilities.\ Communicate within the Blending Department to ensure a cooperative environment is maintained; proper labor is allocated in accordance with work load. Float between the facilities as necessary.\ Provide assistance to new product development and the production of; be able to think outside the box using unconventional strategies to achieve business goals.\ Other duties as assigned
