Distinguishing Features of Work\ The Airport Network Engineer/System Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining both network and system infrastructures. This role includes planning, analyzing, and providing technical support for data communications networks, computer systems, and data storage. The individual uses expertise in LAN/WAN systems, virtualization, and wireless technologies to ensure the seamless operation of internal and external networks, servers, and storage systems.
The position also involves resolving technical issues, performing system backups, developing disaster recovery plans, and ensuring security across networks and systems. Collaboration with vendors, providing technical guidance to users, and offering training opportunities are integral aspects of the role.

Examples of Work Performed
- Document troubleshooting procedures, workflows, and system specifications.
- Develop business user requirements, interfaces to applications, and workflow procedures.
- Coordinate and perform system maintenance, including software, OS upgrades, and patches.
- Monitor system configurations, maintain data files, and run/automate reports.
- Provide technical support, training, and quality control through testing and error correction.
- Manage vendor and consultant relationships to support infrastructure needs.
- Assist in system capacity planning and telephony infrastructure as required.
- Perform database maintenance, tune databases, and query using standard tools.
- Ensure adherence to project deadlines and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
- Plan, design, install, configure, and maintain networked information systems and servers on an as needed basis.
- Test and evaluate network and system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements on an as needed basis.
- Develop and maintain reliable backup and recovery procedures for networks and systems on an as needed basis.
- Implement and manage network configurations and ensure security compliance on an as needed basis.
- Resolve network and system performance issues and recommend upgrades, new applications, or equipment as needed on an as needed basis.
Requirements of Work
- Extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, data and voice transmission methods, large-scale network hardware/software, and virtualization.
- Proficiency in operating systems, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and backup solutions.
- Familiarity with scripting languages.
- Strong analytical skills for problem resolution and workflow analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of system security best practices and user training methods.
- Capability to manage projects or portions of projects assigned by management, including planning, evaluating, and implementing solutions.
- Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs and provide on-site support to remote locations.
- Valid Kansas Drivers License and the ability to travel as needed.

Required Experience and Training
- 4 years hands on experience maintaining network infrastructure, emphasis on Cisco and Pa o Alto products.
- 2 years\' experience with operating systems, storage, and backup solutions. Emphasis on Dell, VMWare, and Synology. +
- 2 years\' experience with operating systems, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and backup solutions.
- A valid driver\'s license
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
Preferred experience
- Bachelors degree
- CompTIA Network + and Security + at a minimum, CCNA certification
- Microsoft Associate Certification such as Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or Azure Administrator Associate with preference to VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- 2 years\' experience working industrial automation systems: PLC: Programmable Logic Controllers, emphasis on Rockwell automation software and HMI: Human-Machine Interface applications with emphasis on Wonderware/Aveva.
