For the past 14 years, the Way to Work (TWTW) Summer Youth Employment Program has been empowering youth just like you to reach their full potential. We provide an exciting chance for 1417-year-olds to gain real-world work experience, develop essential life skills, and contribute to the community.

If youre ready to be a part of something bigger, TWTW is seeking to hire 175 Temporary/Part-time Seasonal Youth Workers for our 68-week summer program. Heres what makes this opportunity so special:

\ Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model while promoting the program\'s mission
  • Promote the City of Wichita\'s mission and values
  • Accept and respect each program participant as an individual
  • Identify personal and professional goals and be a willing participant in the development process
  • Maintain acceptable attendance practices for the entire duration of the summer program
  • Additional job duties will be assigned once youth identify their specific placements in the community.

\ Requirements of Work

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Interact with other youth and staff in a pleasant and polite manner
  • Perform basic tasks such as reading, writing, and follow instructions
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills

\ \ 2025 TWTW Important Dates

  • Completed applications are due by Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, at 11:59pm
  • Program begins on Tuesday May 27, 2025
  • Youth Pre-Employment and Parent Meeting-Required
    • Friday, March 14, 2025, 8:30am - 11:30am or 1:00pm -4:00pm
  • Youth Training - Required
    • Tuesday, May 27, 2025 - Thursday, May 29, 2025

\ Youth Wages/Hours worked

  • Youth may earn \$8.85 per hour
  • Youth are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week.
  • Youth are paid bi-weekly
  • Direct Deposit is available and encouraged
